Pumpkin Seed Oil is a light greenish yellow colored liquid. It serves as a salad dressing when combined with macadamia or olive oil. You can use it cosmetically for preventing stretch marks and anti-aging regime. It can be included in your weight management efforts. Some Indians use it for miner depression, helping with stresses and insomnia, stopping kidney stones and helping with bladder problems, relieving headaches and muscle aches and pains. ~ See what else I've found!
It can also be purchased in soft gel capsules or you can snack on the pumpkin seeds each day – Middle Eastern people do this often and are quite healthy. They also snack on Pistachios and Walnuts – they are great for our health too!
Good for our Skin, Eyes and Immune System
Pumpkin Seed Oil contains beneficial Carotenes like Beta-Carotene and Lutein. Lutein is well known to help protect our eyes from constant exposure to light in this modern day era. These are coupled with a small amount of Vitamin E, both Tocopherols and Tocotrienols, that benefit our eyes as well.
Plus TRUE Vitamin A and E is the darling in Skincare as many of us know. They help us in our fight against Free Radicals and benefit our Immune System. It’s always best to go NATURAL……About 80-90% of Supplements actually contain Synthetic Vitamins A, C and E which can do more harm than good. Believe it or not, Health Stores even carry these – there is no end to what I call “Manufacturing Ploys!”
This Oil may help one fall asleep faster due to the presence of tryptophan in the seed oil.
If you have trouble sleeping, you may want to eat some pumpkin seeds before bed or a teaspoon of the pumpkin seed oil (strictly the cold pressed, well in date) 20-30mins before bedtime. It also has naturally occurring Calcium and Magnesium that works together with the Tryptophan content for you. Also remember to stop viewing TV and Computer screens 90mins before bedtime and make sure to block any light out of your room at night – this is necessary to release the sleeping chemical in your brain called Melatonin.
And try to keep your SLEEPING HOURS EVEN – this helps!

The Pumpkin Seeds Contain Pangamic Acid
Once Known As Vitamin B15
The FDA in United States has banned the use and distribution of B15 even after it was safely and widely used throughout the States in the 70s. Not so in Russia and Europe who have embraced it for years! In fact, it is used there to treat premature aging because of its antioxidant effects. In addition, it has been used for protection from pollutants, especially carbon monoxide.
Dr Donsbach from the Institute of Natural Health Sciences, California USA, wrote a book called What You Always Wanted To Know About Vitamins in 1977. He covers B15 saying that countries like Russia where both Cardiac patients and Athletes are reporting benefits from it.
He reports these benefits:
Keeps Fat from infiltrating the Liver
Serves as a Detoxification Agent.
Increases the Body’s Efficiency in Using Oxygen
Regulates Blood Levels of Natural Steroids
And Extends Cell Lifespan
There are Deficiency Symptoms and they are: Premature aging, asthma and emphysema, hepatitis of the liver, fatigue, palpitations and angina and possibly glaucoma.
Ever wondered why Russia’s Athletes are so good in the Olympics? They have this B15 as part of their Health Routine on a regular basis, as do many people in Russia!
B15 is found in Apricot Kernels too. Each season in Middle Eastern countries, people snack on apricots from the trees when they are half developed – they are actually edible at this stage –
My neighbors do these things, plus the above and enjoy excellent health. They also have Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plenty of Salads and Chilli and Free Range Eggs.
In Thailand, some people take Pumpkin Seed Oil for
Heart Healthy Magnesium. ... Tryptophan for Restful Sleep….Zinc for Immune Support. ...
Anti-Diabetic Effects. ...Benefits for Postmenopausal Women. ...
Heart and Liver Health. ...
Health advocate Blanche Levine reports: “In Russia, B15 is used in treating alcohol dependency by reducing cravings. B15 is also used to treat fatigue, asthma and rheumatism, high blood pressure and cholesterol, improve circulation and general oxygenation of cells and tissues. Did you get that? Vitamin B15 helps our cells to be oxygen rich. In other words, cancer cells hate Vitamin B15!”
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ESTABLISH IF B15 IS IN THE OIL
AND IF IT IS, HOW MUCH?

Some Good Advice
Please make sure the pumpkin seed oil you buy is cold pressed. Others are harmful, usually containing toxic impurities that can lead to Cancer. Best to avoid so-called Veggie Oils too, for the same reason and all Trans Fats! Also, avoid Rancid Oils – remember Good Oils can be bad for you when kept in our kitchen too long – always make sure your Healthy Oils are well in date and kept in a cool dark place (in your cupboard is to be much preferred to placing on your countertop). I place mine near the front in my cupboard as a reminder to use them in time.
Nervous About Oils in Your Diet? Don’t be!
As the saying goes “we need Healthy Fats to fight fat.” And we need Good Healthy Cholesterol (not sabotaged, because Statins kill both LDL and HDL. It’s just a matter of knowing what the real culprits are (cheap nasty Veggie Oils and Canola that have mistakenly replaced our grandparent’s Grass-Fed Butter and Olive Oil and Coconut Oil.
This misinformation all started deliberately by the Manufacturers of Margarine and Polyunsaturates that are actually damaging people’s health!
Besides, the fat concentration in pumpkin seed oil is only about 30–50 %.
Pistachios also have a low ratio of fat.
